September was a pretty active month. Lot’s of set-up work have been done so that our next reports would include some good product news on top of update-related technobabble.

Here is a brief recap of what was done:

-Created node mempool of transactions with different consensus. Mempool is a place where the dev team shares funny pictures… all incoming transactions are stacked before they are processed.

-Transaction exchange and block exchange are ironed-out for CIL core.

-Completed groundwork for Pay2adress application. Now we can send CIL coins from one address to another. Integration of database changes made on a received block.

-Finalized block creation by witnesses. With merkle tree, signatures and coinbase transactions.

-Added block verification by nodes. Block integrity checks, transaction completion and separate processing for Genesis block.

-Redefined witness groups. Now they have their own in-group quorum. For each block and transaction added special fields that define what witness group should process them. This is a defining feature of our our network allowing users to use adjust the network to their needs on a consensus protocol level, including witnesses level. Private blockchains, PoS, delegated PoS and PoW (the last one is to be tested) can be used for any specific task within one single platform. Very important for SilentNotary legal services.

-Coded transport protocol (IP) for physical mainnet so nodes could run on different servers and able to communicate.

Basically, we are half way through doing what Ethereum promises us to have with Plasma but it comes as native feature of the platform instead of a workaround. DAG-based decentralized system is not tied to blocks that need to be confirmed by entire network in one swoop. This is an opportunity to have more flexible sharding with different shards being fully integrated into mainnet without slowing it down. All while different shards can have their own consensus protocols, voting systems and data processing.

But more on that in a soon to be published article.

And here is short recap of what we’re planning to work on for CIL in October:

  1. Transaction finality.
  2. Node database synchronization.
  3. Smart-contracts.

Working on an innovative decentralized platform is deeply inspiring and this inspiration is to be shared. Stay tuned.
